Loren Miller was appointed Director of the Lincoln Regional Office (RO) on Aug. 3, 2008. He is responsible for more than 300 full-time employees and for administering approximately $363 million in annual federal benefits to an estimated 148,000 Veterans, Servicemembers, their families and survivors in 93 counties in Nebraska. Prior to this position, Mr. Miller was Assistant Director of the Salt Lake City RO and managed three ROs in Utah, Alaska, and Montana. He began his VA career in 1992 as an auditor with the Office of the Inspector General in Seattle.
Jason Rogers began his VA career in 2002 as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the Nashville RO. Before that, he was the Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Officer at the Muskogee RO, where he also served two details as Acting Assistant Director.
M. E. Bunde directs a division of 180 employees in processing claims from Veterans with service-connected disabilities. She started her VA career in 1997 as a Veterans Claims Examiner.
Joseph Hlavac took this position in November 2009. He oversees a team of employees who provide administrative and logistical support to the RO’s six-state region. He administers a $27 million annual budget. He began his VA career in 2007 as a Veterans Service Representative.
Courtney Morehead took this position in August 2011. She supervises the fiduciary program covering the states of North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. She began her VA career in 2001 as a Veterans Service Representative.
Melissa Steele-Lufcy took this position in June 2013. She manages an office of professional rehabilitation counselors and support staff providing VR&E services to Veterans with disabilities. She began her VA career in 2006 as a VR&E Counselor at the St. Louis RO and was promoted to Supervisory VRC there in 2010.
