Outreach, Transition and Economic Development
Economic Development
Your economic well-being is not just about you having a job, it’s about education, employment, housing, and much more. The Veterans Benefits Administration created Outreach, Transition and Economic Development (OTED) to provide you with opportunities to achieve economic success. OTED partners with numerous federal agencies and private organizations to bring you the benefits and programs you need for a seamless transition from military to civilian life. OTED’s focus areas for economic development are:
- Increasing early access to VA benefits and services;
- Enhancing use of personalized career planning and guidance; and
- Developing public and private partnerships with organizations at national, state, and community levels.
Whether you’re transitioning now or have been out for years, VA offers resources to get smart about finances. Check out VA resources to learn more about available financial services and tools, access additional federal and private resources, and understand your credit. Make sure to also learn more about the Veterans Benefits Banking Program, which offers safe, reliable, and inexpensive ways to receive and manage your VA financial benefits.
