We administer a variety of services, including Compensation, Education, Insurance, home loans, Pension, and Veteran Readiness and Employment for Veterans, Servicemembers, their families and survivors in western New York. We offer the following additional services:

  • Counseling about eligibility for VA benefits and how to apply
  • Information about VA health care and memorial benefits
  • Outreach to Veterans, including those who are homeless or at risk for homelessness
  • Public affairs

Processing GI Bill Benefits

The Buffalo RO is one of two regional processing centers nationwide that process education claims. The other processing center is in Muskogee, Oklahoma. To learn more, visit GI Bill contact information.

Helping Native American Veterans in the New York Area

We also make extraordinary efforts to efficiently administer benefits to Native American Veterans in western New York. The Seneca Nation of Indians, one of the largest tribes in the area, has more than 7,200 enrolled Veterans. To expand outreach, we participate in various outreach events in the area attended by Native Americans.

In addition, our Education Case Manager provides general information to attendees regarding VA benefits. The Buffalo Regional Office also participates in an annual health fair for the Oneida Nation, which is near Syracuse.
