Meet Our Leadership Team
Director: Mark A. Bologna
Mark A. Bologna was appointed Director of the New Orleans Regional Office (RO) on Sept. 25, 2011. He administers benefits and services to 305,000 Veterans, Servicemembers, their families and survivors in Louisiana, including payment of approximately $640 million in annual benefits. Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Bologna was Executive Director for the Veterans Benefits Management System initiative in Washington, D.C.
Assistant Director: Steve Kelly
Steve Kelly was appointed to this position in August 2019. He assists the Director with benefits and services delivery.
Veteran Readiness and Employment Officer: Roger Otzenberger
Veterans Service Center Manager: Jimmy Williams
Jimmy Williams was appointed to this position in November 2019. He administers Compensation and Pension programs and provides other assistance regarding VA benefits and services to Veterans, Servicemembers, their families and survivors in the RO’s service area.
Financial Manager/Support Services Division: Ava Nicholas
Ava Nicholas was appointed Financial Manager/ Chief, Support Services Division (SSD) of the New Orleans Regional Office on February 14, 2010. As SSD Chief, she is responsible for the Financial and Administrative support at the Regional Office. She is also responsible for the timely and cost effective support services (administrative, financial, budget, records management, PIV, and facilities management) necessary to meet all Regional Office accountabilities including development, implementation, and management of these areas.
