How much will VGLI premiums be discounted?The VGLI premium discount will occur across all age brackets, ranging from 2% to 17%, with the average premium discount at approximately 11%.

When will the premium discount become effective?The premium discount for VGLI will become effective July 1, 2025.
Is the premium discount automatic?Yes, the premium for your coverage amount will automatically be updated in your insurance record, however, depending on selected payment method, action may be required to adjust your payment amount.
All active VGLI insureds will automatically receive the premium discount. - All Veterans who are approved for VGLI after the effective date will receive the lower premium rate.
