VA’s Chicago Regional Office (RO) administers a variety of services, including Compensation, Education, Insurance, Loan Guaranty, Pension, and Veteran Readiness and Employment for Veterans, Servicemembers, their families and survivors in Illinois. We offer the following additional services:

  • Counseling about eligibility for VA benefits and how to apply
  • Information about VA health care and memorial benefits
  • Outreach to Veterans, including those who are homeless or at risk for homelessness and older, minority, and women Veterans
  • Public affairs

Working to End Homelessness Among Veterans in Chicago and Throughout Illinois

The Chicago RO’s Homeless Coordinator collaborates with the city’s Department of Human Services, the Chicago Police Department, and federal agencies to better identify and serve Veterans who are homeless. The coordinator attends the Interagency Region V Council on Homelessness meetings, has represented the Chicago RO at the International Conference of Paroling Authorities, and has assisted at the American Society on Aging National Conference.
