VA’s Hartford Regional Office (RO) administers a variety of services, including compensation, pension, and veterans readiness and employment for Veterans, Servicemembers, their families and survivors in Connecticut. We offer the following additional services:

  • Counseling about eligibility for VA benefits and how to apply
  • Information about education, insurance, loan guaranty, and memorial benefits
  • Outreach to Veterans, including those who are homeless or at risk for homelessness and older, minority, and women Veterans
  • Public affairs

Participating in a Systematic Analyses of Operations

The Hartford RO is a member of the Systematic Analyses of Operations (SAO) project team, which is identifying, categorizing, and updating all Support Services SAOs. We are also working to properly identify SAOs that are still relevant and standardizing various aspects of SAOs.

Maintaining a Collaborative Relationship with American Federation of Government Employees

The Hartford RO also continues to maintain a collaborative relationship with the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 1674. The local bargaining unit employees are part of an AFGE unit encompassing the Hartford RO and the VA Connecticut Health Care System.
