Text Message Terms and Conditions
Frequency and types of text messages: After registering for texts for the GI Bill program, you will receive two enrollment verification text messages per month during terms where you are required to verify your monthly enrollment.
You will receive messages from our 5-digit short code phone number, 44354. Message and data rates may apply.
Need assistance with a text:
Reply "HELP" to get assistance.
Opting out of text messages: If you no longer want to receive enrollment verification texts, you can opt out of GI Bill Program texts at any time to stop receiving messages.
Each text message will include instructions on how to opt out of future communications. To opt out, reply STOP at any time. When you opt out, you’ll receive a confirmation text message letting you know that you’ve been opted out. You will then automatically be opted into email verification at the email address on file with VA.
Resubscribing to texts:
To resubscribe to GI Bill Program texts, reply START and you will get a confirmation text letting you know that you've been opted in.
Verifying by email:
If you have a valid email address on file, you will begin receiving automated emails at the end of each month to verify your enrollment. If you do not have a valid email address on file, you will still need to verify enrollment through Ask VA, using online verification, or by calling the ECC at 1-888-GIBILL-1 (1-888-442-4551) from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday-Friday.
