There are two overseas intake sites that allow Service members to file Benefits Delivery at Discharge claims: Landstuhl, Germany and Camp Humphreys, Korea. The Germany BDD site also offers claims services for those in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. The Korea BDD site is also able to accept claims from Japan, Okinawa and other Asia/Pacific locations OCONUS, via eBenefits.
To have your VA disability exam completed at an Overseas Intake Site, you must:
You can contact the Benefits Delivery at Discharge office in Landstuhl:
You do not need to have an appointment when visiting or submitting your claim to the Benefits Delivery at Discharge office.
You can contact the Benefits Delivery at Discharge office at Camp Humphreys:
If you are stationed outside of the Kaiserslautern Military Community, you may be able participate in the BDD program. Please contact the Germany BDD office for details.
If you’re a Service member who has less than 90 days remaining on active duty, the Decision Ready Claim (DRC) Program is the fastest way to get your VA claim processed. You can work with an accredited VSO to file a Pre-Discharge DRC for VA disability compensation. You cannot file a Pre-Discharge DRC if you are enrolled in the IDES Program. To see a full list of exclusions that would remove your Pre-Discharge claim from the DRC Program, go to www.benefits.va.gov/compensation/drc.asp.
You can also file your claim prior to discharge under the Fully Developed Claim program, the standard VA claims process, or any other qualifying VA claims program. We encourage you to work with an accredited representative who can assist you with the claims process.
