VA’s Seattle Regional Office (RO) administers a variety of services, including Compensation, Education, Insurance, Loan Guaranty, Pension, and Veteran Readiness and Employment for Veterans, Servicemembers, their families and survivors in Washington, several Idaho counties, and British Columbia. We offer the following additional services:

  • Counseling about eligibility for VA benefits and how to apply
  • Information about VA health care and memorial benefits
  • Outreach to Veterans, including those who are homeless or at risk for homelessness, and older, minority, and women Veterans
  • Public affairs

More About the Seattle Regional Office

Processing Pre-Separation Claims

In support of the Seamless Transition initiative, the Seattle RO participates in a pre-separation claims processing program at two sites in Washington state—Fort Lewis and Bremerton. We work to fully develop Compensation, Vocational Rehabilitation, and other types of claims by taking the claim, developing it for Veterans or their dependents, ordering a VA examination, reviewing the examination for adequacy, and obtaining other necessary documentation.

Reaching Former Prisoners of War

We also work to proactively reach and serve former prisoners of war. Our outreach is closely tied to that conducted by several formal organizations, including American Ex-Prisoners of War, Wake Island Survivors, American Defenders of Bataan, and others. Working in conjunction with the national service organizations, the Seattle RO proactively seeks out potential claimants—both former POWs and their survivors—who need claims assistance. These efforts make sure that POW claims decisions receive priority attention.

Change Management Agent Email

The Seattle VA Regional Office has implemented a new corporate email for our stakeholders and partners to submit inquiries to. This new email will allow for transparency and improved tracking for timely responses. Seattle VARO looks forward to continuing to serve our Veterans and their families through collaborative efforts.
